Position: Senior Finance Officer
Status: Full Time
Department: Finance
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Location: Islamabad with occasional travelling

Background: 

The Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives, Pakistan (CPDI) is an independent, non-partisan and a not-for-profit civil society organization working on issues of peace and development in Pakistan. It is registered under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (XLVII of 1984).

 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

The primary responsibility of this support function is to assist Manager Finance for daily transactions, reconciliations, book-keeping, donor and management reporting etc.

  • Verification & processing of payments.
  • Ensure that all supporting documents in respect of financial transactions are adequately authorized and have the correct information.
  • Prepares cheques and vouchers for utility, tax, payroll and other company bills.
  • Process supplier invoices and issue cheques for all accounts due.
  • Accurate posting of transactions in quick books.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly cash flow statement and Bank/ cash reconciliation statement.
  • Prepare project monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain financial files and records to ensure that the finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the project, statutory/annual audit.
  • Administer and monitor the financial system.
  • Develop financial reports.
  • Keep oversight on budget and expenditure and generate BVA reports on quarterly, need bases and as and when donor demands.
  • Prepare realistic budget forecast on quarterly basis.
    Get budget forecast from the sub-grantees on monthly basis.
  • Review of financial documents from the sub-grantees on monthly basis
  • Capacity building on financial management of sub-grantees.
  • Make payments of taxes of vendors.
  • Compliance with tax regulations and tax payments.
  • Perform any other task assigned by Supervisor.

Required Qualification and Skills: 

  • Ideally, hold a Master’s degree in Finance from an HEC-recognized university, accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, possession of an ACCA with three years of relevant experience is also acceptable. Candidates who are CA Finalists or have completed their CA Inter articles from a QCR (Quality Control Review) firm will also be considered.
  • Exhibit excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Display strong attention to detail, effective time management abilities, and resourcefulness.
  • Proficiency in both English and Urdu is essential for this role.
