CPDI is promoting Transparency and Right to Information in Pakistan by conducting various subject related activities and in this regard CPDI has successfully trained more than 100 students over the years on RTI Laws and its linkages with service delivery issues. CPDI believes that its experience of engaging youth on the use of ‘Punjab Transparency and Right to Information act 2013’ and ‘Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Act 2013’ has not only helped the youth to use RTI laws for public good but also gave impetus to civil society efforts for successful implementation of these laws. CPDI is holding another four day long Summer Camp for the students of Punjab, KP and Sindh. Aim of the RTI Summer Camp is to equip young individuals with the basic knowledge and tools or RTI. Provincial government of Sindh has recently enacted ‘Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act 2016’. Participants are selected on the bases of their overall performance in a short video. Selected participants from three provinces will be invited to attend Summer Camp scheduled from Aug 2 – 5, 2017 in Islamabad. It is expected that after this intensive knowledge and activity based training, young students will become RTI Champions and will use RTI as a tool for public good in their respective communities.
