CPDI in collaboration with Punjab Information Commission (PIC) has organized one- day training on the ‘Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013 and responsibilities of Public Information Officers (PIO)’.  A large number of PIOs from Punjab Food Department are expected to attend the training. The training is specifically designed to sensitize PIOs on the effective use of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013 so that they can abide by the said law and perform their duties. Under the training, PIOs will acquire an in-depth knowledge about the principles of RTI, role and responsibilities of PIOs and procedures for handling information requests defined by the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013. So far CPDI in collaboration with PIC has organized 23 trainings of PIOs, where more than 600 PIOs were trained. The upcoming training of PIOs is scheduled for October 26, 2017 in Lahore.
