In Pakistan, lack of transparent functioning of public bodies has resulted in creating a disconnect between state and citizens. As a result, delivery of services has deteriorated and corruption has gained currency over the years. Citizens are not kept in the loop at the planning and implementation stages of development projects. It is in this context that CPDI has undertaken present initiative on social accountability and audit tools.
